Manta-Ray, Inc. was started in 1950 by W. H. Peters, Montpelier, Ohio with a patented automatic float valve manufactured in brass with a plastic valve and float. In 1984 the company outgrew its small facility and a new plant was built in nearby West Unity, Ohio, where it has now grown to 42,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space housing 11 plastic injection molding machines and a vacuum forming process. In the early 90ís the company added itís ''ChildBrite'' line of early childhood products (www.childbrite.com), and in 2004 the ''Sew-Brite'' line of home sewing cutting tables was included in the companyís product line (www.sew-brite.com).
